Sizes of Model Horses
EquinArt Creations Model Horses: Sizes
One of the most frequently asked questions we get here at EquinArt
Creations is "what is the size of the horse?"   For those of you
unfamiliar with model horse collecting terms, here are the illustrate
the different sizes.

Large Traditional Size: 10" and taller at the highest point
Traditional size:  8 to 10" tall at the highest point
Classic Size: 6 to 8" tall at the highest point
"Little Bits":  4" tall at the highest point.  Please note that the
term "Little Bits" is trademarked by the Breyer model horse
company/Reeves International but is a common term to
describe this size
"Stablemate" size:  2 1/2 - 3" tall at the ear tips.  The name
"Stablemate" is a registered trademark by the Breyer Model
Horse Company/Reeves International Corporation, but is
commonly used by collectors to describe this size.
Bantam:  1 1/2 - 2" tall at the ear tips.
Micro Mini: the very smallest model horses.   The tiniest one
that we have is actually the pewter foal, which barely measures
a quarter or an inch tall.  The typical size is one inch tall.

Please see the photos and captions on this page to help you get a
feel for the sizes of our original model horses.   In some cases, we've
included a US coin (quarter or dime) for size comparison.

Happy shopping!
The total range of sizes shown in one
photograph, above.   "
Jethro" (the white draft
horse) is a large Traditional size measuring
11" tall.   The pewter rearing horse is
Napoleon, a micro mini under 1" tall.
The photo below shows the entire range of sizes available from EquinArt Creations.
Below: Classic size "Fala" is about 7 inches tall.  "Debit" to the right is four inches tall.   Debit is what model
horse collectors call "
Little Bits" size.
Our four smallest sizes of model horses are below.  "Debit" is now shown here with a Stablemate model size
coin so that you can better understand the scale and size comparison.
Micro Minis are 1" tall or smaller and cast in pewter.  You've heard the expression about horses, "He can
turn on a dime", but
have you ever seen a horse as small as a dime?!
