The following instructions for painting our pewter micro mini horses
are to be used at the customer's discretion. EquinArt takes no
responsibiliy for our models once they are painted by the customer
or another artist.
You’ll need:
- Needle file
- Sandpaper of various grades
- Auto body primer, such as Rustoleum
- Paints of your choice – oils, acrylic, or pastels work fine
- Sealant, such as Krylon’s Crystal Clear or Testor’s Dullcoate
Use the needle file to remove the major seams. Smooth with the
sandpaper until the surface is as you want it to be for painting.
Prime the mini for painting using an auto body primer such as
Rustoleum to ensure a smooth and consistent surface. Paint using
the painting method of your choice – micro mini owners have used
pastel dust, oil paints, and acrylics to create these tiny
masterpieces. Finally, seal the painting using Krylon’s Crystal Clear
or Testor’s Dullcoate.
